Big Brother is one of my favourite tv shows and it hurts me when people make horrible comments about it.
It isn't what it used to be like.It is now too much about getting famous than the social experiment which really frustrates me.
I still view this as a social experiement and love seeing how different people mix.
I used to love Shipwrecked, a reality show called Eden [anyone else remember that??] and The Salon [bring that back Channel 4!!] but not so much I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here....it depends on who is in there.
The thing I am putting into Room 101 with regards to Reality Shows are their spin off shows.
Ok good to get a bit of gossip...but why do they all have to be so "random".
I watched Big Brothers Bit On The Side only a handful of times. I couldn't stand it.
Without sounding old.....why do they have to swear so much? And talk about an*l sex, bl*w jobs etc at any opportunity? These things aren't going on in the house so why talk about it?
Another thing I don't like about Bit On The Side is the fact that Pete Burns features so heavily.
The man is disgusting. I don't mean appearance wise alone, I'm not that shallow, but the things he says.
The man is a bully and totally unreasonable in everything he says.
Same as Lauren Harries. Why give someone like that the airtime?
On the other side of the coin, I hate the fact that Bit On The Side are clearly taking the mickey out of Lauren Harries and Pete Burns, and I'm not sure they even realise it.
I know these people go into the house for our entertainment but I think theres a line to how far we can go in taking the mickey and picking apart at these people.
Mentioning their weight, the way they dance, clothes they wear.
It seems that spin off shows are mainly there to pick on these people, celebrities or "normal people".
It just makes me feel incredibly uncomfortable.
And why does the presenter have to act all random, following a script that is clearly written in the style of "Russell Brand", trying to talk the way he does naturally?
It doesn't suit them.
